Christy Chan (Year 1, MBChB) has joined the HK-HOPE since May 2022. She is going to spend two months full-time in the laboratory. She mainly works on the collaborative project on the biomarkers of acute kidney injury cases in paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) between Dr Alvin Hui (HKCH) and Dr Renee WY Chan (CUHK). She has passed the Safety Exam and conducts hands-on clinical specimen processing. Christy also gains exposure to the logistics of medical research in real life. She also prepares the ethical application material for the upcoming research project, which would be a very useful experience for her future development as a clinician-scientist.
