Research Interests
- Deciphering pathogenic genomic variants by genome sequencing in:
Paediatric rare disease genetic diagnosis
Children with intellectual disability or developmental delay - Studying the contribution of rare structural variants to human disease.
- Development and validation of genome sequencing diagnostic tests.
Research Topics Include
- Development and optimization of the state-of-the-art genome sequencing approaches in comprehensively identifying various genomic variants;
- Implementation of genome sequencing approaches in genetic diagnosis for prenatal and postnatal cases;
- Comprehensive investigation of the genomic contributions in undiagnosed children and fetus with congenital abnormalities by multiple-omics approach;
- Deciphering the underlying repair mechanism of chromosomal structural rearrangements;
- Understanding of the mechanism in human early embryonic development and the potential contributions of genomic variants to early miscarriage;
- Development of non-invasive preimplantation genetic screening method utilizing cell-free DNA from embryo culture medium.
